Integrating a value descriptor

You use a value descriptor to represent your business-specific BOM types. To integrate and declare the value descriptor, you must repackage the Decision Center archive.

About this task

You use a value descriptor to provide a literal value representation for your business-specific BOM types (see Creating a value descriptor).

Procedure

To integrate a value descriptor into Decision Center:

  1. Package your implementation of the interface IlrAbstractValueDescriptor into a JAR.
  2. Create a preferences.properties file that maps the key you defined for the valueDescriptor property in the BOM Editor to your interface implementation, and include that file in the JAR file that contains your implementation:
    webui.descriptor.myKey = mypackage.MyValueDescriptorImplementation
  3. Repackage the Decision Center archive with the repackage-ear command. In the repackage-ear command, use the -DadditionalJars argument to specify the JAR file containing your custom class.
    Note:

    For information on how to repackage the Decision Center archive, see Repackaging the Decision Center archive.

  4. Deploy the Decision Center archive.

Results

The value descriptor is now available in Decision Center.
