Selecting a display mode

Rule Designer supports different display modes: classic, dark and light.

You can set the display theme to match your preference. There are three modes available:
  • Classic: Shows the traditional display.
  • Dark: Provides a dark background and light letters.
  • Light: Provides a light background and dark letters.

Installation instructions by operating system

You choose your mode through the settings. The menus vary depending on the operating system.

Windows
Follow these instructions to change the theme mode:
  1. Open Rule Designer.
  2. In the tool bar, click Window > Preferences > Appearance.
  3. Select Enable theming. Usually, it is already selected.
  4. In the Theme drop-down menu, select one of the modes: Classic, Dark or Light.
  5. Click Apply and Close. You are asked to restart Rule Designer for the theme to take full effect.
  6. Click Restart. When Rule Designer restarts, it uses the mode in all its windows.
MacOS
Follow these instructions to change the theme mode:
  1. Open Rule Designer.
  2. In the tool bar, click Ruledesigner > Settings > Appearance > General.
  3. Select Enable theming. Usually, it is already selected.
  4. In the Theme drop-down menu, select one of the modes: Classic, Dark or Light.
  5. Click Apply and Close. You are asked to restart Rule Designer for the theme to take full effect.
  6. Click Restart. When Rule Designer restarts, it uses the mode in all its windows.
Linux
  1. Open Rule Designer.
  2. In the tool bar, click Window > Preferences > Appearance.
