Top banner

From the top banner, you access the various features of the Rule Execution Server console.
After you sign in to the Rule Execution Server console, its home page displays a top banner with several tabs and links. Use these tabs and links to access the features of the console for the following purposes:
  • Quickly determine the status of a running Rule Execution Server instance from any location.
  • Know what artifacts are deployed on Rule Execution Server and when they were deployed.
  • Work with deployed artifacts: RuleApps, Java™ XOM resources, and Java XOM libraries.
  • Monitor rulesets and execution units (XU).
  • Enable or disable deployed resources.
  • Monitor and manage the resources of the Decision Warehouse.
  • View the server log.
  • Read documentation about the Rule Execution Server console.
  • Test REST API requests and responses.
The top banner gives access to the following tabs and windows:
The Explorer tab
Gives access to the RuleApps, XOM resources and XOM libraries.
The Decision Warehouse tab
Opens the Search Decisions dialog, from which you can run a search on ruleset execution results, and gives access to the persistence properties.
The Diagnostics tab
Opens the Diagnostics view, from which you can run tests on the execution of a ruleset on all execution unit (XU) instances.
The Server Info tab
Opens the Server Info View, which displays the list of execution units (XU) and various execution messages which you can filter by severity level.
The REST API tab
Opens the REST API test tool.
About button
Displays the characteristics of the current Rule Execution Server console, such as license information.

The Explorer tab

The Explorer tab gives access to views of the following execution artifacts:
  • Deployed RuleApp and rulesets archives
  • Java XOM JAR and ZIP resources
  • Java XOM libraries
Use the expandable tree to work with the artifacts.
RuleApps

Click RuleApps to display a RuleApps View. From it, access a RuleApp view on a deployed RuleApp and a ruleset view on a ruleset. Each RuleApp and ruleset has a timestamp that shows its date and time of deployment. For more information, see Managing RuleApps and Managing rulesets.

Resources

Click Resources to display a Resources View and, from it, access a Resource view on a deployed Java XOM resource. For more information, see Managing Java XOM resources and libraries.

Libraries

Click Libraries to display a Libraries View and, from it, access a Library view on a Java XOM library. For more information, see Managing Java XOM resources and libraries.

The Decision Warehouse tab

Use the Decision Warehouse tab to monitor and manage the resources of Decision Warehouse.
  • Search Decisions to filter and display rule execution trace information.
  • Persistence Properties to specify the trace configuration for your session.
  • Clear Decisions to delete trace information from the Decision Warehouse database.

The Diagnostics tab

Use the Diagnostics tab to test the execution of a ruleset on all execution unit instances, typically cluster members, that are visible to the management console. The diagnostics result provides an unambiguous view of all the members of a cluster. For more information, see Monitoring and managing the server.

The Server Info tab

The Server Info tab provides a summary of the server activity at that moment.
  • Total number of RuleApps
  • Total number of rulesets
  • Log level
  • Log file

The Server Info tab displays details of the running execution units (XU) and the list of logging events. Log messages are classified as info, warnings, or errors. You can view these messages by selecting the type from the View filter.

Note:

In the Rule Execution Server console on z/OS®, the Server Info tab also displays the Configuration details column which provides more details on the execution units.

The REST API tab

On the REST API tab, you can test requests for resource management through the REST API. For more information, see REST Rule Execution Server management API.
