Testing and simulating rulesets
In Rule Designer you prepare
the capability for business users to run tests and simulations in Decision Center . You enable remote testing, prepare the
BOM to generate Excel scenario files, and customize aspects such as the scenario data provider. You
can also test rulesets directly from Rule Designer .
Overview of testing and simulation
Business users must be confident that the decision services are written correctly and that any update does not break the business logic encapsulated in the rulesets. Business users validate the business logic against well-defined usage scenarios, by running tests and simulations against their rules.
Testing and simulating rulesets in Decision Center
Business users can validate rules against scenarios by testing and simulating rulesets in the Decision Center Business console. Before they can do this, you must prepare projects in Rule Designer by enabling remote testing.
Testing rulesets in Rule Designer
New in 8.10.2 To validate rulesets against scenarios, you set up and run a testing configuration.
Working with Excel scenario files
You store testing and simulation scenarios in Excel. Before you generate an Excel scenario file, make sure that the business object model (BOM) is configured correctly. You can then generate the file and populate it with scenario data.
(Deprecated) Testing and simulating rulesets with Decision Validation Services
You use Decision Validation Services to enable, use, and customize testing and simulation. This feature works with only the classic rule engine.
