The Apache Tomcat Insight Pack gives customers support to ingest data from various Apache Tomcat logs into IBM Operations Analytics – Log Analysis. They can then use a rich set of analytical dashboards to visualize metadata and derived metrics from log content, along with performing additional queries on the content.
Apache Tomcat Catalina Log Health Dashboard
This dashboard displays charts for the Apache Tomcat hosts based on the log level in the Catalina Log. These charts display the top 5 hosts with max severe, warning and exception logs.
Apache Tomcat Access Log Health Dashboard
This dashboard displays charts for the Apache Tomcat hosts based on the HTTP response status in the Apache Tomcat Access Log. These charts display the top 5 hosts with max HTTP server and client errors per the response status.
Apache Tomcat Catalina Log Level Dashboard
This dashboard displays charts for the Apache Tomcat server instances based on the log level in the Apache Tomcat Catalina Log. These charts display data for important log levels and exceptions categorized by server name and distributed over a configured time period.
Apache Tomcat Access Log Dashboard
This dashboard displays charts for the Apache Tomcat Server instances on a particular host based on the HTTP response status in the Apache Tomcat Access Log. These charts display server names with HTTP server and client errors per the response status.
The Insight Pack includes support for ingesting and performing metadata searches against the following Apache Tomcat related log file records.
In addition to the above log files, Apache Tomcat also generates a number of other log files.
Apache Tomcat system writes some logs in the catalina.
