Subsetting data (optional)

Creating data subsets is a core capability of IBM® Optim Archive for z/OS®. Subsetting enables users to extract consistent, appropriately sized datasets from production systems for use in testing, development, and analytics.

Additionally, subsetting reduces storage costs, improves test coverage, and ensures compliance by limiting exposure of sensitive data.

Subsetting is an optional step. You do not need to define subsets of your data if you want to include all of the data from the associated access definition.
