Reset two-factor authentication for a user

If two-factor authentication (2FA) is enabled in IBM® NS1 Connect® and a user no longer has access to the 2FA device on which they set up 2FA, you can reset the 2FA key for the user.

Before you begin

Your user permissions must be set to Manage global 2fa.

Procedure

  1. Click the User Settings icon and select User & teams.
  2. Click the Users tab.
  3. Beside the user name, click the Options menu and select Disable 2FA.

Results

The user can now log in to NS1 Connect with their username and password.

What to do next

After logging in, the user is prompted to enable 2FA for their account. If they do not enable 2FA for their account, they will be locked out the next time that they try to log in to NS1 Connect.
