Adding Eclipse views from an Update site to the palette

You can add Eclipse views to the component palette for use in your application.

About this task
An update site is a central repository for Eclipse views that are available for use in composite applications. An Update site can be hosted locally or on a server. You must have the URL of a server-based update site in order to add a component.
  1. Choose Tools > Components > Add components > Add Components from Update Site.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Choose Remote Update Site and enter a URL for an update site.
    • Choose Local Update Site and type or browse for the location of a local update site.
Note: Components added from a local update site may not be available for all application users. The local option is often used for testing rather than adding components for a fully deployed application.
Note: In order to display in this list, eclipse views must have the allowMultiple attribute set to True.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Choose a category for the component.
  5. Choose the component to add.
Note: Only Eclipse views that have the allowMultiple attribute set to True will be available for you to select.
This field maintains a history list so you can pick a component that you have added in the past.
  6. Click OK.
