Runbook elements and editing actions

Use the editor to describe your daily tasks step by step. The editor provides editing actions and runbook specific elements to help you write the instructions.

Click Add manual step and use the following runbook elements and text editing actions to edit and format your operator instructions.

Add command
Add command
Click the editor canvas. Select Add command and enter your command. Click Enter to quit the command and continue in the next row.

Another way to enter a command is to mark the command and click Add command. As the command is still selected, you have to click on the canvas to deselect the command. Click Enter to quit the command and continue in the next row.

Keyboard shortcut
Use the tab key to move the focus on the canvas. Press Ctrl + 4 and begin typing your command.
Remove command
You can remove the command by placing the cursor in the command and clicking Remove.
Add goto
Add GOTO
Click the editor canvas. Select Add GOTO. A goto element is added with the label END. Click the GOTO element and select the step that you want to jump to. You can select any subsequent.
Keyboard shortcut
Use the tab key to move the focus on the canvas. Press Ctrl + 5. The GOTO element is added.
Remove GOTO
Select the GOTO element and click Remove.

Add parameter
Add Parameter
To add a parameter, go to the Parameter palette and drag the parameter that you require to the canvas.

Or mark the text which should be a parameter name and click Add parameter.

Keyboard shortcut
Use the tab key to move the focus on the canvas. Press Ctrl + 8. A parameter menu is added. Click the arrow and select the required parameter.
Remove parameter
Select the parameter and click Remove.

Insert collapsible details
Add collapsible details
To add collapsible details, click Insert collapsible details Insert collapsible details. Enter a title for the collapsible section. Then enter the information that you want to collapse and expand in a section.

Remove collapsible details
Use the delete or backspace key to delete collapsible details.
paragraph
Paragraph or Heading
Switch between paragraph style or select from the available heading styles.
bold Bold. Select a text and make it bold by selecting b.
italic Italic. Select a text and make it italic by selecting i.
insert link Insert Link. If you want to insert a link, click Insert Link and enter in the URL field the link. Do not forget to provide the link text and decide whether you want this link to be opened in another tab.
ordered list Bulleted list. Select text that is spread over a couple of rows and click bulleted list. All lines are indented and bulleted.
numbered list Numbered list. Select text that is spread over a couple of rows and click numbered list. All lines are indented and numbered.
increase indent Increase indent. Select text that is spread over a couple of rows and click increase indent.
decrease indent Decrease indent. Select text that is spread over a couple of rows and click decrease indent.
insert image Insert image. If you want to add a screen capture for example, select Insert Image.
block quote Block quote. If you want to add a quotation that is set off from the main text, select Block quote.
insert table Insert table. If you want to insert a table, click Insert Table. Enter the number of rows and columns that you need and specify the column with and width unit.
Undo Undo. You can undo your last 20 editing actions.
Redo Redo. You can redo your last 20 editing actions.
