Netcool® Operations Insight® 1.6.8 includes a range of new features and functions.

New product features and functions in version 1.6.8

Netcool Operations Insight on OpenShift® 1.6.8 provides event management capabilities in IBM Cloud Pak® for Watson™ AIOps 3.7.0.

New features in version 1.6.8
The following features and functions are available in the Netcool Operations Insight 1.6.8 product:
Resetting the grouping confidence level
Resetting the default grouping confidence level is supported in this release. For more information, see Setting the grouping confidence level.
Runbook automation updates
Running the latest published automation directly is supported in this release. For more information, see Running an automation.
New Rating and Comment columns are available in the Activities tab. For more information, see Activities.
On the Automations page, the average rating is displayed in the table. For more information, see Managing automations.
Installation mode
The SingleNamespace installation mode is supported in this release. For more information, see Operator scope.
Cassandra
Cassandra is upgraded to version 4.0.x in this release. For more information, see Getting started external icon in the Apache Cassandra documentation.
Topology updates
Several topology updates are included with Netcool Operations Insight. For more information, see the What's new in Version 1.1.17 external icon topic in the IBM Agile Service Manager documentation.
  • Filtering search results is supported for on-premises deployments in this release. For more information, see Rendering a topology external icon in the IBM Agile Service Manager documentation.
Updated install and upgrade methods in version 1.6.8
The installation and upgrade methods have changed since the previous release. For more information, see Installing Netcool Operations Insight and Upgrading and rolling back.

Editing the impactgui ConfigMap, which is described in the version 1.6.7 documentation, Editing the impactgui ConfigMap, is not required as a post-installation step in this release.

Updated image verification method
The image verification method is updated in this release. For more information, see Verifying images.
The following dashboards are removed in this release:
  • Monitoring event reduction
  • Monitoring operational efficiency
  • Monitoring runbook statistics
