To change the alerts and alert columns that you see in the table on the Alerts
page, change datasource, filter, and
view settings. You can also sort on multiple columns.
Procedure
- To modify the range of alert data that you can view in the table, click the
Datasource drop-down list and add or remove data sources.
You must
have at least one data source selected to see data in the table. By default this data source setting
is AGG_P, which refers to the primary aggregated ObjectServer.
- To change the alert columns displayed in the table, click the Views drop-down list and
select a different view.
Changing the view can also change the sort order of the alerts
and alert grouping. For more information, see the related link at the end of this
topic.
- To change the alert rows displayed in the table, click the Filters drop-down list and
select a different filter.
Changing the filter changes the alert rows that are displayed
in the table. For example, if you only want to see alerts from certain network resources and your
resource data is held in the
Node column, then one way to do this is to
select a filter that excludes alerts where the
Node column contains resource
values that you do not want to view.
Note: In general, changing the filter changes the data that is
retrieved from the server; consequently, a filter that matches less events will give better
performance.
- To sort on multiple columns, select the first column header, then sort on additional
column headers by selecting them in sequence. If, for example, you sort the severity column first
and the Runbook column second, events are sorted by severity first and then by runbook status.
Results are displayed in order of severity with events of identical severity sorted by runbook
status.
What to do next
To manage the alerts that you and your operations team can see in
the Alerts
page, you can, if you have
the correct system permissions, edit filters and views. For more information, see the related link
at the end of this topic.
