IBM® Netcool® Operations Insight® version 1.6.5 is available. Compatibility, installation, and other getting-started issues are addressed in these release notes.

Description

Netcool Operations Insight combines real-time event consolidation and correlation capabilities of Netcool Operations Insight with Event Search and Event Analytics. It further delivers seasonality analysis to help detect regularly occurring issues. Netcool Operations Insight also enables real-time enrichment and correlation to enable agile responses to alerts raised across disparate systems, including application topology.

Tip: When you create a report, search for Netcool Operations Insight and select your version (for example, version 1.6.5). In the report, more useful information is available through hover help and more links.
For example, to check the compatibility with an operating system for each component, go to the Operating Systems tab, find the row for your operating system, and hover over the icon in the Components column. For more detailed information about restrictions, click the View link in the Details column.

Updates in version 1.6.5.1

Netcool Operations Insight on OpenShift 1.6.5.1 provides event management capabilities in IBM Cloud Pak® for Watson AIOps 3.4.x.

Fixed issues in version 1.6.5.1
Fix Pack 1 addresses some internally found issues in Netcool Operations Insight 1.6.5.1:
Backup console integrations
An issue with a high availability disaster recovery (HADR) scenario is resolved in fix pack 1. The console integrations on the backup cluster are fixed.
Certificates
You are no longer required to update your certificates when installing 1.6.5.1. For more information, see Creating a certificate.

New product features and functions in version 1.6.5

Netcool Operations Insight on OpenShift 1.6.5 provides event management capabilities in IBM Cloud Pak for Watson AIOps 3.4.0.

New features in version 1.6.5
The following features and functions are available in the Netcool Operations Insight 1.6.5 product:
Guardrails
You can partition scope-based and temporal event groups by using guardrails. For more information, see Configuring guardrails.
Runbook Automation
  • Automation output filtering: filter the output of Script automations or HTTP automations to return only the subset of data that you are interested in. This is useful when you use the output of one automation as the input for another automation. For more information, see Creating Script automations or Creating HTTP automations.
  • Miscellaneous UI improvements and fixes.
  • Security fixes.
ONAP AAI service

The Open Network Automation Platform (ONAP) Active and Available Inventory (AAI) service provides an interface to the ASM graph database. For more information, see Configuring the ONAP AAI service.

Topology updates

Several topology updates are included with Netcool Operations Insight on OpenShift. For more information, see the What's new external icon topic in the IBM Agile Service Manager documentation.

HP NFVD Observer

The HP NFVD observer fileload job consumes topology data from a file. For more information, see the Configuring HP NFVD Observer jobs external icon topic in the IBM Agile Service Manager documentation.

SDC ONAP Observer

You configure Service Design and Creation (SDC) Open Network Automation Platform (ONAP) Observer jobs to dynamically load data from the SDC REST interface. For more information, see the Configuring SDC ONAP Observer jobs external icon topic in the IBM Agile Service Manager documentation.

Integrating with AI Manager
