If the resource on which an event occurred can be located in the network topology system,
then a large dot is presented in the event's Topology
column. Click the
large dot
to display a topology map for this event, centered on the resource on which the event
occurred.
Procedure
-
Identify events that have an associated resource in the network topology.
- Flat events that is, events that are not part of an event group, that have an associated
resource in the network topology, have a large dot immediately
visible in their
Topology
column.
- Events that are part of an event group, that have an associated resource in the network topology
also have a large dot in their
Topology
column, but you must first open the
event group in order to see the event. Open an event group by clicking the Down chevron icon on the
parent event group row.
- Click the large dot in the
Topology
column for the event of
interest. A side panel containing multiple information sections opens in the table.The Topology section is open.
The
Topology section provides the following information:
- Resource
- Name of the resource on which the event of interest occurred.
- Begin time
- Date and time when the topology for this resource was last updated.
- Observed time
- Date and time when the event of interest was observed on this resource.
- Topology pane
- Contains showing a topology map for this event, centered on the resource on which the event
occurred.
- If you have sufficient user permissions, then you can investigate the topology
further.
- Click the More information link at the end of the side panel's
Topology section.
This action launches out to the topology management service in a separate
browser tab, which displays the same topology map, with the full topology display experience. For

- Click the Events breadcrumb to return to the Events
page.
