Upgrading and rolling back on Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform
Follow these instructions to upgrade Netcool® Operations Insight® on Red Hat OpenShift.
Upgrade methods
You can upgrade by using the Operator Lifecycle Manager (OLM) UI, or with the OLM UI and Container Application Software for Enterprises (CASE). You can also upgrade offline in an air-gapped environment. Rolling back from IBM® Netcool Operations Insight on Red Hat OpenShift version 1.6.15 is not supported.
Before the upgrade
You can only upgrade to Netcool Operations Insight 1.6.15 from the previous version (1.6.14).
Rolling back to a previous deployment of Netcool Operations Insight from version 1.6.15 is not supported.
You can only upgrade to Netcool Operations Insight 1.6.15 if your version of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform is either 4.16 or 4.17.
ContainerStatusUnknown state.- Back up your deployment. For more information, see Cloud and hybrid backup and restore.
- Install a certificate manager. You can skip this step if you already have a certificate manager installed. The recommended certificate manager is Red Hat OpenShift cert-manager. For more information about deploying cert-manager, see the relevant chapter in the Red Hat OpenShift documentation.
- Ensure your system meets the minimum footprint (hardware sizing requirements). For more information, see New prerequisites for version 1.6.15.
After the upgrade
After you upgrade your cloud deployment, update the cloud native analytics gateway configmap. For more information, see Preserving cloud native analytics gateway configmap customizations on upgrade.
