Derby database corrupted

The Derby database can be corrupted during the installation of Event Analytics.

Problem

The Derby database is corrupted, and must be reset.

Resolution

During the installation of Event Analytics, if the Derby database becomes corrupted then you must reset it to default state by performing the following steps:
  1. Navigate to $IMPACT_HOME/install/dbcore and find the zip archive named ImpactDB_NOI_FP15.zip.
  2. Stop all of the Netcool®/Impact servers in the cluster, including the primary and secondary servers running the Derby database.
  3. Back up the existing directory structure in $IMPACT_HOME/db/Server_Name/derby, where Server_Name is the name of the Netcool/Impact server. Once the backup is complete, remove the directory structure.
  4. Copy the ImpactDB_NOI_FP15.zip zip file found in step 1 to $IMPACT_HOME/db/Server_Name/derby and unzip it there.
  5. Start the primary Netcool/Impact server and allow it enough time to fully initialize.
  6. Start the secondary Netcool/Impact server and allow it to resynchronize from the primary server.
