Administering policies created by analytics

Use this information to understand how to manage policies that have been created by analytics.

About analytics-created policies
Policies take action against incoming alerts.
Accessing policies
Manage policies by accessing the Policies GUI.
Filtering policies
You can filter the list of policies based on the policy type or status.
Activating policies
If your system is running in Review first mode, then you must manually activate policies to take action against incoming alerts.
Refreshing the policies table
You can refresh the policies table to view all the latest policies at the current point in time. The policies table does not automatically refresh.
Managing multiple policies
You can batch select policies and apply actions to all of your selections at one time.
Renaming policies
A global unique identifier string is used to identify each policy. You can rename policies to give them more meaningful names.
Editing policies
You can customize Temporal Pattern policies by adding or editing conditions in the policy and the actions that are triggered.
Adding a comment to policies
You can add a comment to Temporal Grouping and Temporal Pattern policies if automatic updates to the policies are disabled.
Archiving policies
You can archive policies that are not in use. Archived policies don't act on incoming alerts.
Disabling automatic updates
Policies with automatic updates enabled are continually reevaluated and updated by Netcool® Operations Insight® analytics. You can disable automatic updates on Temporal Grouping and Temporal Pattern policies.
