Only alphanumeric characters working in Event Viewer search
Non-alphanumeric characters do not work in Event Viewer search.
Problem
If non-alphanumeric characters are used in an event search from the Event Viewer, then these characters are replaced with their ASCII equivalent. This causes the search to be performed with the incorrect characters, and events that should have matched the search term are not returned in the search results.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, edit the search field and replace the string that has ASCII characters in it with the original search term that you entered.
