Integrating with IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps

Learn how to integrate IBM® Netcool® Operations Insight® with IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps.

In this scenario, IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps and Netcool Operations Insight on-premises are both installed, and are connected by the Netcool and Impact connectors. The connectors enable a uni-directional flow of events and policies from Netcool Operations Insight to IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps. The Netcool Operations Insight deployment is an on-premises deployment.
Note: Netcool probes are still supported in an IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps only deployment without Netcool Operations Insight. For more information, see Probes and probe integrations external icon in the Netcool/OMNIbus Integrations documentation.

To integrate Netcool Operations Insight with IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps, use the Netcool and Impact connectors. For more information, see Creating Netcool connections and Creating IBM Tivoli Netcool/Impact connections.

Procedure

The order of installation of Netcool Operations Insight and IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps is not significant, and you can perform step 2 before step 1 if required.
  1. Install IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps. For more information, see the IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps documentation: Installing external icon
  2. Install an on-premises deployment of Netcool Operations Insight. For more information, see Installing on-premises.
  3. Configure the connectors. For more information, see Creating Netcool connections and Creating IBM Tivoli Netcool/Impact connections.
  4. (Optional) Install IBM Tivoli® Netcool/OMNIbus Integrations.
    1. Follow the instructions in the Pre-installation tasks section external icon of the Netcool/OMNIbus Integrations documentation.

    2. Install the Netcool Operations Insight Event Integrations Operator.

      Follow the instructions in the Installing the Operator external icon section or the Installing the Operator (air-gap method)external icon section of the Netcool/OMNIbus Integrations documentation.

    3. Deploy Netcool/OMNIbus Integrations probes or gateways. Follow the deployment instructions for your required Netcool/OMNIbus Integrations probe or gateway in the Integrations for IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps external icon section of the Netcool/OMNIbus Integrations documentation.
