Installing application support on Windows

Installing application support on Windows involves different steps to other operating systems.

About this task

Application support is supported on the same versions of Windows that IBM Tivoli Monitoring supports. Refer to the documentation for your version of IBM Tivoli Monitoring for more information on the supported versions of Windows.

To apply the application support for IBM Tivoli Monitoring components on Windows systems, complete the following steps.

Procedure

  1. On the server where IBM Tivoli Monitoring is installed, download the installation package for IBM Tivoli Monitoring for IBM Tivoli Network Manager IP Edition.
  2. Decompress the installation package.
  3. Change to the ITMagent/windows/ directory and run the setup.exe file to start the agent installer.
  4. Accept the recommendation for the JRE version.
  5. Accept the suggested installation directory. By default, the location is /opt/IBM/ITM, but it might be different if IBM Tivoli Monitoring was installed in a different location.
  6. If you do not have a product custom key, accept the default key, IBMTivoliMonitoringEncryptionKey.
  7. Select one or more of the following components to apply application support to. Components are only displayed if they are installed on the current server.
    • Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Server
    • Tivoli Enterprise Portal Server
    • Tivoli Enterprise Portal Desktop Client

    Select IBM Tivoli Network Manager for each option you selected. If the framework is not installed on your system, also select TEMA Agent Framework for each option you selected.
