setup_run_as* scripts
Certain core processes in Network Manager must be run as root. If you
installed Network Manager as a
non-root user, then these processes will not be able to run unless you execute the
setup_run_as_root.sh, setup_run_as_setuid_root.sh, or
setup_run_as_capabilities.sh script on the server where the back-end processes
are installed.
These scripts affect which user can run the scripts that control the startup and shutdown of
Network Manager as follows. The
scripts affected are
itnm_start, itnm_stop, and
itnm_status. Note: In order for these scripts to work correctly, you must be
logged on as root when you run them. Run the Network Manager environment scripts to set the
environment variables before running these scripts.
