Discovering aggregated links

As part of an EMS discovery, you can retrieve information about some links that are logically aggregated.

About this task

Network Manager can discover and model link aggregation information from devices running the Alcatel 5620 SAM EMS.

To discover aggregated link information, complete the following tasks:

Procedure

  1. Configure the Alcatel 5620Sam Java collector.
  2. Run a discovery.
  3. Open the Structure Browser and examine a device that contains aggregated links.
    The aggregated links are shown within the device containment.

Results

A Service Affected Event (SAE) is generated if any port that participates in an aggregated link has an alert of severity 5 or higher.
