Running cross-domain discoveries

Before creating your cross-domain network views, run cross-domain discoveries.

Before you begin

Before running cross-domain discoveries, configure how the cross-domain links are built.

About this task

To run your cross-domain discoveries, complete the following steps:

Procedure

  1. Run a full discovery in your first domain.
  2. Run a full discovery in your second domain.
  3. Run a full discovery in any other domains.
After discovering all domains once, some connections might be duplicated, and your links between domains might not be as expected.
  4. Run a second full discovery in every domain.
Any inferred connections are replaced by discovered connections.

Results

The links between each domain are added by the cross-domain stitchers. The AGGREGATION domain is created by the aggregation stitching, which runs at the end of discovery (and whenever the topology is updated).

What to do next

Create any network views you want, using the AGGREGATION domain.
