Granting object privileges

Learn how to grant object privileges.

Procedure

  1. Netezza Performance Server for Cloud Pak for Data System
    Log in to the web console and go to Administration > User management > Users.
    Netezza Performance Server for Cloud Pak for Data
    Go to Users and groups > Users.
  2. Select the user for which you want to grant object privileges and click Object privileges in the overflow menu.
    The menu appears when you click the three dots that are next to the Created on column.
  3. Select a database.

    You can choose between the Global database and a specific database. Global means that the privileges are related to generic object types such as views, tables, databases, groups.

    If you choose Global, the privilege is assigned globally across the system. If the user account is given Create table privileges, they can create a table in any database.

  4. Select a schema.
    If you selected Global for the database in step 3, skip this step.
  5. Select the object for which you want to grant or revoke object privileges and click Edit.
    If you want to allow this user to grant their privileges to other users, put a tick in the With grant checkbox.
  6. Click Save.
