Upgrading Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform on AWS (OCP 4.14)
After you upgraded infrastructure components, Cloud Pak for Data and Netezza Performance Server for Cloud Pak for Data upgrade Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (from version 4.12.26 to 4.14.29).
Before you begin
- Determine your Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform upgrade path.
- Verify your current Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform
version.
Example:oc versionoc version Client Version: 4.12.37 Server Version: 4.12.26 Kubernetes Version: v1.25.11+1485cc9 - Find the suggested upgrade path by using the the
Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform upgrade path tool.
If you want to upgrade from 4.12 to 4.14, the suggested upgrade path is 4.12.26 > 4.13.43 > 4.14.29.
You must find your upgrade path before every upgrade.

- Verify your current Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform
version.
- If you deployed any custom applications that use the deprecated APIs, you must update these applications to use the suggested APIs prior you upgrade Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform. If you do not update them, they do not work after the upgrade.
Procedure
- Before upgrading to 4.13, provide admin acknowledgment as suggested in Preparing to
upgrade to OpenShift Container Platform 4.13 to enable the 4.13
upgrade.

- Before upgrading to 4.14, provide admin acknowledgment as suggested in Preparing to
upgrade to OpenShift Container Platform 4.14 to enable the 4.14
upgrade.
