Upgrades of Netezza Performance Server systems with the IBM® SQL Extensions toolkit

Before you upgrade the Netezza Platform Software (NPS) on your system, consult with Netezza Performance Server Support to determine whether the upgrade will affect your toolkit functions. The Release Notes or the service pack readme file identifies any known situations where an upgrade or update can impact the functions.

Although most NPS patch and service pack updates do not affect the operation of the toolkit functions, an NPS upgrade might stop the functions from working. An upgrade from one major release to another might require you to obtain a new toolkit installation package with new function object files.
