Client software packages

If you have access to IBM® Passport Advantage® or the IBM Fix Central downloads area, you can obtain the Netezza Performance Server client software. You must have support accounts with permission to download the IBM Netezza Performance Server software from these locations.

To access Passport Advantage, go to http://www.ibm.com/software/howtobuy/passportadvantage/pao_customers.htm.

To download the client tools from Fix Central:
  1. Go to https://www-945.ibm.com/support/fixcentral/options and in the Find Product section, type IBM Cloud Pak for Data System in the Product Selector field.
  2. In Installed version select NPS_11.X and click continue.
  3. Click the product version that you want to install. A list of available packages is displayed. The client package names have the format ips-platformclient-version.archive, where platform is a client operating system type, version is a Netezza® software release version, and archive is the file compression format for the client.
  4. Download the packages you need.

The Netezza Performance Server client kits are designed to run on the proprietary hardware architecture for the vendor. For example, the AIX, HP-UX, and Solaris clients are intended for the proprietary RISC architecture. The Linux client is intended for RedHat or SUSE on the 32-bit Intel architecture.

Note: Typically, the Netezza Performance Server clients also support the update releases for each of the OS versions listed in the table, unless the OS vendor introduced architecture changes in the update.
