Provisioning an instance in Azure
This topic provides guidance on provisioning service instances in Azure.
- Purchase the Netezza service directly from the IBM SaaS console.
- After completing the transaction, you’ll be automatically redirected to the IBM SaaS console.
- From there, you can proceed with the setup and create your instance.
Creating an instance

Access the SaaS Console
- Go to: https://azure.console.saas.ibm.com/landing
- Click on your SaaS subscription.
- Click View Instances.

Create a New Instance
- Click Create Instance.
- Specify:
- Control Plane region (default:
westus) — do not change. - Name for the Data Plane instance.
- Region for Data Plane deployment.
- Control Plane region (default:
- Click Create.

Wait for Provisioning
- Wait until the status changes from Provisioning to Running.
- Click Open.

Setup from Admin Console
- Click Setup.
- Enter:
- Azure Tenant ID
- Azure Subscription ID
- Click Approve Azure Consent to grant permissions.

Deploy ARM Template
- In the Create Least Privilege Resources for Service Management section, click Deploy.
- This opens the Azure Portal.
- Click Review + Create, then Create.

Initiate Dataplane Provisioning
- After ARM deployment completes, click Initiate to start provisioning the Data Plane.

Create and configure engine
- After provisioning completes:
- Click on Create engine.
- Configure:
- Database name
- Deployment plan (number of nodes)
- Block Storage size
- Deploy the Engine instance in the Data Plane.

Access Endpoints
- Once deployed, click on the Engine to access:
- Netezza engine endpoint
- Management Console endpoint
- You can connect via Private Link or VNet peering, ensuring no CIDR conflicts.
- Once deployed, click on the Engine to access:
- After provisioning, next go to Connectivity.
