The table details the Netezza Performance Server release schedule and final fix (FF) release dates.
Note:
  • The 11.3.x branch is planned as the future long-term supported release, ensuring continued stability and support for upcoming requirements.
  • Transition to 11.3.x is recommended to maintain access to future updates and extended support.
  • 11.2.1.14 is expected to be the final release in the 11.2.x series, with no major updates planned beyond this version.
  • Netezza Performance Server upgrade will be supported from NPS 11.2.1.x (11.2.1.12/13/14) to 11.3.x series.
  • The Netezza Performance Server 11.3.x version introduces several new features with significant platform stability, security, and performance. Key highlights include a major uplift to RHEL 8, a modernized console, and native Windows-integrated Kerberos SSO support in the Netezza JDBC driver. Additionally, it expands lakehouse capabilities through Iceberg integration with IBM watsonx.data.

  1. The release dates might be subject to change.
  2. If you use Netezza Performance Server for Cloud Pak for Data System and you are interested in using technology preview features, consider upgrading to the 11.2.X.X stream. In other cases, you might continue to use the 11.0.X.X or 11.1.X.X streams.

  3. You are expected to upgrade to the 11.2.X.X stream to use rich features, which are part of the 11.2.X.X release stream.
  4. After a new version of the Netezza Performance Server software is released, you must upgrade your system within a month.

Major releases, maintenance, and fixpacks
Follow these guidelines:
  • Major release levels are supported for 3 years.
  • Minor release levels are supported for 2.5 years.
  • Maintenance releases are supported for a minimum of 18 months.
  • All fixpacks are cumulative of prior fixpack content.
  • Client kits and drivers are maintained for a given platform for as long as the operating system vendor provides standard support.
