Netezza Performance Server 11.2.3.0-IF1 release notes

Netezza Performance Server for Cloud Pak for Data System Version 11.2.3.0-IF1 introduces Netezza Performance Server for Cloud Pak for Data System with watsonx.data.

New features and enhancements

Integrating Cloud Pak for Data System with watsonx.data
With Netezza Performance Server for Cloud Pak for Data as a Service and watsonx.data, CPDS customers can read and write Apache Iceberg tables stored on cost-effective S3 compatible object storage on SF HCI system along with joining Netezza native tables (hot data) and Iceberg tables (cold data). Shared metadata, storage, and open table Iceberg data formats facilitate data access and sharing across multiple Netezza instances running on-premises and/or Netezza on Cloud.

For details, see Integrating Cloud Pak for Data System with watsonx.data.

RHEL8/GCC9 upgrade
Version 11.2.3.0-IF1 incorporates an upgrade to RHEL8/GCC9. GCC9 supports only 64-bit. NPS no longer provides 32-bit client builds. For more information, see Upgrading Netezza Performance Server to 11.2.3.x.
Supports Time Travel Data Management
Use time travel queries to retrieve and analyze historical data without having to develop extra application logic such as history tables. NPSaaS time travel comes in handy when you want to track the history of data changes or reconstruct your data. By using this powerful tool, you can access historical data (data that was changed or deleted) at past points in time or within a past period of time. For more information, see Getting started with time travel.
SQL support for data lake use cases (Parquet)
Use the Netezza Performance Server for Cloud Pak for Data as a Service external tables to access and query parquet files that are stored outside of your database in data lakes (on AWS S3). For more information, see Querying data from data lakes.
