History database versions

Sometimes a new version or release of Netezza Performance Server introduces a new version of the history database to reflect changes to database schemas.

History database version Available since release Changes
1 4.6 None. This is the original version.
2 7.0.3 Several of the history tables and views were updated to include schema information and a timezone offset. For history tables and views that use the GMT timezone, the tzoffset field was added to record the timezone offset, in minutes, for the source system relative to GMT. For example, Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) is four hours earlier than GMT, so the timezone offset is +240 minutes.
3 7.1 Several of the history tables and views were updated to include fields to record client information:
User ID
The user ID under which the client is running.
Application name
The name of the client.
Workstation name
The host name of the workstation on which the client runs.
Accounting string
The value of the accounting string from the client information that is specified for the session.

If you upgrade to a new release, you can continue to use an earlier version of the history database, or you can create a new version of the history database to take advantage of the new fields and records.
