Adding the Netezza Performance Server host NetWorker client

About this task
To add the host NetWorker client to the NetWorker server, complete the following steps.
Procedure
- Open a browser and log in to the NMC.
- Click the Enterprise icon.
- Choose the applicable server from the list of servers in the left pane.
- Start the NetWorker Managed Application from the right pane.
- Click the Configuration icon from the new window.
- Right click Clients from the left pane and select New from the menu.
- In the Create Client window, type the name of the Netezza Performance Server host or IP, which you added in
/nz/data/config/backupHostname.txt on
npshost. - Select an appropriate browse and retention policy for the client.
- Confirm that the Scheduled backup check box is
checked. You will provide further information about scheduled backups later in the configuration.
- Check the groups to which you are adding the client.
You will be creating more groups later in the configuration.
- From the Globals (1 of 2) tab, set appropriate value for the
Parallelism field.
This parameter controls how many streams the NetWorker client can simultaneously send in one or more backup operations. For help about selecting values for this setting, see Parallelism settings.
- Under the Globals (2 of 2) tab, add an entry of
form user@client in the Remote access list for any other client that is
allowed to restore backups that are created by this client.
For example, to allow a backup that is created on Netezza Performance Server host1 (
hostname1.company.com) to be restored on Netezza Performance Server host2 (hostname2.company.com), ensure that thenz@hostname2.company.comentry is present in the Remote access list of Netezza Performance Server host1 (hostname1.company.com). - Click OK to create the Netezza Performance Server host NetWorker client.
- If you have more than one Netezza Performance Server system, you might want to add your other Netezza Performance Server systems as clients.
