Customizing the Event Viewer

You can customize the appearance and behavior of the Event Viewer. In addition you can define relationships for use in organizing the event list.

Setting the appearance and behavior of the Event Viewer
You can configure the appearance and behavior of the Event Viewer to customize style, layout, or localization. The workspace preferences outlined in this topic are general user preferences which can apply to any Event Viewer. Some preference settings might have been disabled (in widget preferences by the administrator) for the individual instance of Event Viewer that you have open. In such a case, a preference can still be edited but it will be shown grayed out to indicate that it will not take effect for this Event Viewer.
Defining event relationships
Use event relationships to organize an Event Viewer. Event relationships group events in the list by the relationships between them.
Properties in the userdefaults.props file
Information about the properties in the WEBGUI_HOME/etc/system/userdefaults.props file is detailed in this table. If you change a property in this file, you must restart the Web GUI server. To activate any custom event viewer properties, set the event_viewer_preferences_updated property value to true.
