Configuring launch-in-context integrations with Tivoli products

You can configure the Web GUI to launch into compatible Tivoli products.

Launch-in-context integrations are supported between the Web GUI and compatible Tivoli products. A launch-out integration describes the starting of another product from a Web GUI widget. A launch-in integration describes the starting of the Web GUI from another product.

Before you begin

  • Ensure that integration between the Web GUI and the other product and version is supported.
  • Ensure that you are familiar with the workings of the integrating product. Only Web GUI configurations are described here. Consult the documentation for the other product.
  • Configure an LDAP directory as the user authentication repository. Ensure that this LDAP directory is the common user repository for all products that are in the same instance of Dashboard Application Services Hub as the Web GUI.
  • Configure single sign-on (SSO) so that users do not have to reenter their credentials when they click between products. Ensure that all the hosts are part of the same Websphere Application Server SSO domain.
  • Create the users in all the products and assign the required user roles. Some roles in IBM Tivoli Network Manager IP Edition map to Web GUI roles. This mapping is described in the following table.
