You can use Netcool/OMNIbus Administrator to
create and manage ObjectServer databases.
About this task
To create an ObjectServer database:
Procedure
- From the Netcool/OMNIbus Administrator window,
select the System menu button.
- Click Databases.
The
Databases,
Tables and Columns pane opens.
You can view and configure
table and column information for each non-system database listed.
Use the Data View tab to view data contained
in the table. Use the Column Definitions tab
to see information about the table columns, such as their data types
and attributes.
To refresh any displayed information, click
the icon for the currently-selected database or table, or click the Refresh toolbar
button.
- From the toolbar, click Create Database.
The Database Details window opens.
- Complete this window as follows:
- Name
- Type a unique name for the database.
Tip: When you create ObjectServer objects, their names
must begin with an uppercase or lowercase letter, followed by uppercase or lowercase letters,
numbers, or underscore (_) characters, up to 40 characters in length. User, group, and role names
can be any text string up to 64 characters in length and can include spaces. Names of
ObjectServer objects are case-sensitive.
- OK
- Click this button to save the database and close the window. New databases
are added to the ObjectServer and to the Databases, Tables and Columns pane.
- Cancel
- Click this button to close the window without saving your changes.

You can now add tables to the database.
