Step 3: Configuring component communications
Use this step to configure communications between Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus components.
Proceed as follows:
- On the computer on which the primary ObjectServer is running (nchost01),
run the following command to open the Server Editor window:
$NCHOME/omnibus/bin/nco_xigen
- Configure the additional communications settings. The complete
set of Server Editor entries is shown in the following table.
Table 1. Server Editor settings - desktop ObjectServer architecture Server Hostname Port SSL DIS_1 ncdesk 4700 0 A_TO_D_GATE_1 ncdesk 4800 0 AGG_GATE nchost02 4500 0 NCOBK_PA nchost02 4600 0 NCOOS_PA nchost01 4200 0 NCOPR_PA targethost 4300 0 NCOSDESK_PA ncdesk 4900 0 AGG_B nchost02 4400 0 AGG_P nchost01 4100 0 AGG_V Backup 1:

- Apply your changes and close the Server Editor. This creates the file interfaces.solaris2, which contains your communications information.
- Copy the $NCHOME/etc/omni.dat file to the $NCHOME/etc directory on nchost02, ncdesk, and targethost.
- Run $NCHOME/bin/nco_igen on the nchost02, ncdesk, and targethost computers to create the interfaces.solaris2 file.
- For the Windows computer (ncdesktop), use the Server Editor to enter the correct communications information.
All computers in your Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus installation now have the same communications information.
