Monitoring TADDM events in the Web GUI

TADDM events are generated in IBM Tivoli Application Dependency Discovery Manager when a configuration change is detected in your IT environment. You can monitor TADDM events from the Event Viewer or Active Event List (AEL) if your system is configured to support this feature.

Before you begin

Ensure that the Event Viewer or AEL displays TADDM events:
  • Select the TADDM filter from the Filters list.
  • If the Class column is in the current view, sort by that column and search for the class that is called Tivoli Application Dependency Discovery Manager. This class name is a default and can be changed by the system administrator.

About this task

TADDM events have an Indeterminate severity level by default. TADDM has a Java™ console and web client. You can open both from the Event Viewer or AEL for more information about the configuration items that TADDM events represent.

Procedure

  • To display all the attribute details for a configuration item, right-click a TADDM event and click TADDM.
For the Java console, click Config Item Details (console), or for the web client click Config Item Details (web).
  • To display the change history for a configuration item, right-click a TADDM event and click TADDM.
For the Java console, click Change History (console), or for the web client click Change History (web). You can double-click an event to view all its details in the Event Information window.
