Checking NSM when Netcool Configuration Manager Recovers
Use this information to understand how NSM deals with services when the Netcool Configuration Manager is shutdown and then started up again to recover from some system issues.
When Netcool Configuration Manager is shutdown, all active services are paused at their current state. When Netcool Configuration Manager is started again, NSM makes a best effort to recover and continue all services not yet completed at shutdown time.
- Services that are currently executing, whether it is a create or delete action, will continue as normal.
- Services that have been submitted but have not yet started executing,
whether it is a create or delete action, will either begin execution
as normal or will default to a failed status if NSM is unable to determine
the service state. These failed services will appear with a status
of
INDETERMINATE
through the NSM REST API but will appear as a standard fail within the Netcool Configuration Manager User Interface. The resultant state can be investigated by using the Netcool Configuration Manager User Interface.
