Monitoring Netcool Configuration Manager events in the Active Event List
You can monitor Netcool Configuration Manager events in the Active Event List to enable you to identify when configuration changes are made to devices in the network, and to help you ensure that the network configuration complies with your corporate regulations.
About this task
You can monitor Netcool Configuration Manager events from the Active Event List if your system is configured to support this feature.
To identify Netcool Configuration
Manager events in the Active
Event List, you can perform either of the following actions:
- Apply a filter to display Netcool Configuration Manager events only. This filter must have been created by your system administrator, in which case you can select it from the Filters list.
- Sort on the Class column, if this column is available in your current view. By default, the Class entry is ITNCM, although this value can be changed by your system administrator.
Note: You can ignore the aforementioned class column information because Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus version 7.4 onwards,
Active Event List is replaced with Event viewer. The Event viewer allows you to view class type
information from summary column with Alert group as TopClasses.
From the Active Event List, you can perform the following operations on Netcool Configuration Manager events:
Procedure
- You can launch the Netcool Configuration Manager Activity Viewer as a TIP portlet; right-click an event and then click from the pop-up menu.
- You can run a report on the device that is associated with a selected event.
- You can perform the standard actions that are available from the Alerts menu. For example, you can right-click an event and then click Information (or double-click the event) to view its complete set of details.
