Installing and configuring the products
The products and components that support the integration must be installed, and must be in an operational state before you configure the integration.
Before installing the products, ensure that you review the hardware, operating system, software, and communication requirements, and consider your deployment options. Also take note of the user and system permissions that are required for the user performing the installations.
Also, before starting any components or working with any configuration
files, set the Network Manager environment
variables by sourcing the env.sh script (UNIX or Linux) or env.bat
script (Windows). This script is in the Netcool home location, for
example:
/opt/IBM/tivoli/netcool or C:\IBM\tivoli\netcool
- Required DASH profiles
- If a Netcool Configuration Manager presentation server and Netcool Configuration Manager Reports are to be located on the same server, they require installation in separate DASH profiles.
- Integrating with Network Manager when failover is enabled
- Network Manager has a number of restrictions when failover is enabled, or has actually occurred (see the Network Manager documentation for further details). Therefore the following restrictions apply to an integrated Netcool Configuration Manager system:
