Unit of work events

Unit of work (UOW) events indicate that a UOW has completed a certain stage within the UOW lifecycle.

A UOW groups together a configuration task against a set of devices. For example, a single UOW might involve the upgrade of the IOS revision on 30 Cisco devices. At the completion of each stage within a UOW, an event is generated. UOW stages are as follows:
  • Ready for execution
  • Executing
  • Finished

UOW events are generated against the Netcool Configuration Manager server.

UOW events can be identified using the Agent field, which has the value UOW trap for UOW events. UOW events are categorized by event ID, as described in the following table. Use this information to determine whether further action is necessary. The EventId field does not display by default in the Active Event List. Your system administrator can add the EventId field to the columns displayed in the Active Event List.
