Configuring the discovery profile

The IBM® Tivoli® Utilization sensor is configured through the use of discovery profiles. A default discovery profile, named Utilization Discovery, is provided out of the box. It can be used to perform discoveries as is, or a new profile with customized configuration parameter values can be created.

The out-of-the-box Utilization Discovery profile has the following default property values:
  • operatingMode: ONCE
  • collectionMode: ALWAYS
  • interval: 15
  • numDays: 35
  • maxFileSize: 100
It contains the following default sensors:
  • Ping sensor
  • Port sensor
  • Session sensor
  • Anchor sensor
  • Operating system utilization sensor
If the default discovery profile is not sufficient for your needs, you can create a profile with customized configuration parameters.
