Troubleshooting the sensor
This topic describes common problems that occur with the Check Point sensor and presents solutions for those problems.
Unable to retrieve information from the Check Point server host machine
- Problem
- The Check Point sensor fails during discovery.
- Solution
- Verify that you have the following permissions:
- Read permission to the $CPMDIR/conf/objects.C directory on the system where the Check Point FireWall-1 is running
- Execute permission for the $CPMDIR/bin/fw command
- Read permission to the $CPMDIR/conf/*.W files, which contain the editable versions of the rule sets
