Zone structures
Zone structures are comprised of zone groups of individual stores.
Many retailers have individual divisions and departments determining zone strategies. Zone structures are used to arrange stores in pricing zones for a category or group of categories. Price Management and Price Optimization automatically creates the same price for a specific category in all stores within a zone. You can enforce a zone pricing rule on a specific zone.
Zone groups are collections of pricing zones for particular categories or divisions. Zone groups can either combine zones or separate zones by divisions (for example, one zone for one name place, and one zone for another name place). Zone groups can also vary by category (for example, Hair Care Products uses zone group 1, and Makeup uses zone group 2).

You can create zone groups directly in the Price Zones page, by importing group information into the DemandTec by Acoustic OpenLink application, or by adding a zone group name directly into the database. The zone groups appear in the Price Zones page. Once zone groups are established, you can add or change zones.
You can also copy the stores within a zone directly to a store group. This quickly creates a store group per zone, which will appear in the list of store groups in the Price Store Groups page. You have the choice to create either a static or dynamic store group for one or more zones. You can also create multiple store groups for multiple-selected zones at once. A dynamic store group based on the Zone search criteria will be automatically updated with any new stores that are in the specified zone. This option is useful if new Zone Structure files are frequently sent to DemandTec by Acoustic. See Store groups for more information about static and dynamic store groups.
