Subzones

Subzones function similarly to zone exceptions, but you set prices at the product/subzone level, rather than at the product/store level, as in zone exceptions. You need the Manage Subzone permission to create, edit, and delete subzones.

To support more granular zone pricing strategies, you can divide your zones into subzones at the product/store level. For example, olive oil sold in a set of stores within a zone must follow a specific pricing rule and receive the same price. However, the same olive oil products sold in the rest of the zone follows a different pricing rule.

When creating subzones, you use an existing store group and product group to define the specific store/product combinations that will belong to the subzone. For example, to create a subzone with Product 1 and Product 2 at Store A and Store B, first create a store group (members: Store A, Store B) and a product group (members: Product 1, Product 2). Then, during subzone creation, select this store group and product group.

Once you have created a subzone, DemandTec by Acoustic enforces subzone pricing automatically when conducting pricing actions. If a scenario violates pricing subzones, DemandTec by Acoustic will populate the Subzone Exceptions report in the Results tab of the scenario. To disable subzone pricing after creating subzones, you can set the subzone as inactive.

Note: Prior to using subzones, please work with your DemandTec by Acoustic representative to determine if adjustment of the base price delivery file format is necessary.
