Creating multiple product groups

Use this procedure to create multiple product groups.

About this task

You can create multiple dynamic product groups at once for multiple-selected categories in the Multiple Product Groups dialog box. The same product group definition will be applied to all product groups. For example, if you define the product group name as "Image Item Product Group" and select five categories, then a product group named "Image Item Product Group" will be created for each category. This can save you time from creating individual product groups with the same definition for each category.

Procedure

  1. Choose Data > Product Groups.
    The Product Groups page shows (for a specified category) any product groups, number of members in each group, last date updated, and the user who made the update.
  2. Click Multiple Product Groups. The New Product Group dialog box opens.
  3. Enter a name or description for your product group in the Description field. Use a unique description or name that is easily identifiable.
  4. Choose one or more categories from the Category drop-down menu. Hold down the Shift or Control keys to select multiple categories.
  5. To create the dynamic product groups, choose an attribute, operator, and value that DemandTec by Acoustic will use to select the "driver" products for the product groups in the Product Criteria drop-down menus.
  6. Click Done to return to the Product Groups page, or Add Next Product Group to continue adding product groups.
    Your new product groups will appear in the Product Groups page. The Dynamic checkbox is set for each dynamic product group.
