Finding addresses and places in Maximo Application Framework applications

Find an address or place on a Maximo Application Framework application map by using its coordinates, address, or other identifiers.

About this task

Geocode services assign geographic codes to addresses, which enable you to locate them on a map. A record in a spatial-enabled application that is geocoded can be represented visually on maps. Records are geocoded if the record has a service address.

The default service used to search is the ArcGIS world geocoding service. Administrators can add more geocoding services or configure specific layers within a map to be searchable.

Procedure

  1. Add a new Geocode Service.
    1. Open a Map Manager record,
    2. Click the Services tab.
    3. From the Geocode Services section, click New Row.
    4. Add the Geocode Name and Geocode URL.
    5. Click Save.
  2. Find an address or place.
    1. Open a map.
    2. From the Find address or place field, select a service to use for the search.
    3. Enter a search term.
      For example, enter an address.
    4. Select the search result.

Results

The map is repositioned to center on the search result that you selected.
