Performing a query from a mobile application map

Perform queries by using multiple feature selection methods and query criteria on mobile application maps.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the Maximo Mobile Technician application and open a Work Order map.
  2. Open the Query tool.
  3. Click Layer and select one or more map layers.
  4. Choose a feature select mode to capture the map features you want to query.

    Feature selection method Icon Function
    Filter by map extent Filter by map extent icon Identify features at the current extent level.
    Draw polygon Draw polygon icon Draw a polygon shape on the map. Features matching the query that are within the borders of the polygon are displayed.
    Draw line Draw line icon Draw a line on the map. Features appearing on the line and within its buffer setting can be queried.
    Draw point Draw point icon Draw a point on the map. Features appearing within the point and its buffer setting can be queried.
    Select feature Select feature icon Select a feature on the map to query.
    Near my location Near my location Identify features near my geographical position. GPS capabilities must be enabled on your mobile device.
  5. Set the buffer value for the selection.
    The buffer is used to adjust the radius around the feature selection. Increasing the buffer identities a larger set of features on the map.
  6. Configure criteria for the query.
    For example, you can query features that intersect a buffer, or query a feature attribute that is equal to a specific value.
  7. Click Execute Query.
    All features matching the query are displayed on the map. Select a feature to view its details.
