Maximo Application Framework application map tools
The Maximo Application Framework application toolbar contains all the tools that you use to work with the map.

Basemaps | Dynamically apply basemaps to the current Spatial map. Default basemaps are provided with Maximo® Spatial. These basemaps cannot be customized and must be used with Spatial maps only. | |
Bookmark | Save extents to be used later. | |
Edit | ![]() |
Can be used to edit or add new features to the map. New features are linked to the current record. You must grant users access to the current service layer from the security application to add or edit features with the Edit tool. |
Find location | Search a location in the map by using an address or item ID. | |
Full extent | Centralize the map into the full extent set in the Map Manager. | |
Identify | Identify features on a map. You can also use the Identify tool to manage map features. The Identify tool is enabled by default. |

Identify filter | The Identify filter is located in the Identify tool. Select one or more layers to use with the Identify tool. |

Identify highlight | The Identify highlighter is located in the Identify tool. Configure the width and color of the highlight when highlighting a map feature. |

Identify tolerance | The Identify tolerance is located in the Identify tool. Configure the tolerance of the area when identifying features on a map. |

Navigate and create filters inside a building by floors. The web map must have indoor capability enabled to use this tool. |

Centralize the map to the initial extent set in the Map Manager. |

Linear Visual Controller | Display and manage linear data that is linked to a GIS feature for a Maximo
record. This tool is available if you have installed IBM® Maximo Linear Asset Manager. |

My location | Centralize the map to the current location of the device. | |
Next extent | Centralize the map to the next extent stored in the navigation history. | |

Download, update, and delete offline map resources, for example, Vector Tile
Package (VTPK) files and replica layers. This tool is available only for mobile devices. |
Previous extent | Centralize the map to the previous extent stored in the navigation history. | |
Print data shown on the map. | ||

Create queries to return a set of map features that match the query criteria. You can use the Query tool to select features on the map. |

Show related work orders for a record. |

Manage the data retrieved from the Query tool. Use the Results tool to change the status of multiple records through a single server request. |
Results clear all | Remove the selected features listed in the Results tool. This tool is available only for the desktop. |

Results list to map view | Bring the listview items to the Results tool. This tool is available only for the desktop. |

Results map to list view | Send the selected features listed in results tool to the list view. This tool is available only for the desktop. |

Results merge values | Merge the list view items with the Results tool records. This tool is available only for the desktop. |

Results select all | Select all results listed. | |
Results set as current | Set the selected feature as the current value. This tool is available only for the desktop. |

Results unselect all | Unselected all currently selected results. | |
Results zoom to features | Display the extent to view all the features listed in the results tool. | |
Sketch | Write text and draw geometric shapes like polygons, lines, and points on the map and then share with others. |
