Locating a record by using a feature

You can locate a record by identifying it on a map that displays features and then setting it as the current record. For example, if you want to open a work order for an asset but you cannot find the asset record. Then, you can locate the feature on a map and set it as the current record.

Procedure

  1. Open the map that contains the feature that is associated with the business object record you want to locate.
  2. Open the Identify tool and use it to locate the feature.
  3. Select the feature and then click the Set as Current icon.
If the feature you selected is associated with a different application, you have the opportunity to open that application.
For example, when you select an Asset feature from a Locations application map, you are given the option to open the Assets application and view the feature on the map tab.

Results

The current asset is now set to the record linked to the feature you selected on the map. You can also locate a record by using this method from the Results window.
