Enabling the proxy server for map services access

You can configure Maximo® Spatial Asset Management to act as a proxy server when accessing map services. When the proxy server is enabled, all web browsers that access the map services pass through the application server, which provides an additional layer of security.

About this task

When the Use Proxy? option is enabled, all map service requests are processed by the application server without needing direct access from the web browser to ArcGIS Server. When this option is enabled, only the application server requires access to the ArcGIS Server instance. Enabling the proxy can affect performance because all map requests pass through the application server, including all map images requested.

Procedure

  1. In the Map Manager application, open a record.
  2. Select Use Proxy?.
  3. Save your changes.

Results

The requests to ArcGIS Server will be made through Maximo application server.
